Cape Cod Rowing Alumna Eliza Spilsbury Helps Virginia win ACC Title

Centerville's Eliza Spilsbury helped lead the No. 5 Virginia Cavaliers to its seventh consecutive ACC Rowing championship Saturday on Lake Hartnell in Clemson, South Carolina. Spilsbury, a sophomore, is the No. 6 seat on the Virginia varsity eight boat, which earned ACC Crew of the Year honors for the fifth consecutive year. She competed with Cape Cod Rowing and attended Barnstable High School as a freshman before transferring to the Kent School in Connecticut, from which she graduated in 2013.  Spilsbury won the gold medal at the junior women's four at the 2013 World Rowing Junior Championships. Virginia will compete next at the NCAA Rowing Championship on May 27-29 in Gold River, California
